A Guide to Camera, Indemnity and Liability Insurance
The Need for a Camera and a Multimedia Insurance – A good photographer, my friend, recently had his photo booking kit including a DSLR and premium lenses … in a wedding session! Far from me to judge, but is left in his car, although well covered and in the parking lot of a luxury restaurant, just ask questions.
However, this news hit me like a freight train, while I realized that I had no camera insurance and the car had the address of my photographic website on everything that is saying “Come to me I have a computer Expensive inside! ”
No one has ever seen.
Of course, my computer in my house is covered by content insurance, but in the field? Nah!
Over the years I have accumulated enough hiding and I tend to take many things with me when I came out in the buds.
The amount of time I leave my bag unattended while I run like a fireworks master trying to capture events on the scene is staggering. If I were a thief, I leave you any old wedding service or place a costume … Mix (since nobody knows everyone at a wedding) and determines the photographers movement.
This is not an invitation to bored bullies to come and help, but as a “hand to hand” for photographers like me who have too much confidence / naivety in their bones!
Now I have a safe, and I also use a small set of backpack / protection for my kit that stays with me at all times.
Camera and Multimedia Insurance – Search Business Insurance
As far as I remember, one of the reasons I did not have camera insurance was the fact that when I looked at it in the past, it did not stop hitting the brick walls. The lack of insurance companies that would provide photographic equipment was incredible. Even those who had had a very bad reputation.
Then came a company that seemed to listen and understand the needs of media industry professionals. There are still exclusions or limitations such as …
Flight from any vehicle 9: 00-06 a.m.
The theft of items of any vehicle is subject to a sub-limit or excess
Getting dangerous, tricks or special effects
… but it’s still one of the best I can find in the UK.

For the moment…
Know in your kit at all times and make it look if possible.
Do not leave it unattended for long periods.
Do not let it be vulnerable, that is, walking alone streets around the dark night and DeSerres with a 1Ds Mark III on a tripod with a 600mm lens attached.
Carry with you what is needed, leave the rest at home.
Investing in a large safe in the house to store the kit at night or when you leave could be a good boost. I know people who have been robbed while sleeping … not many people put their house on the night of alarm … we do!
Sell all your equipment and become a hairdresser …
